Maca powder for hormones
Hi, I just started taking contraception pills for almost 1 month now and although I had told myself that I should be aware that it might affect my appetit (because I don't want to gain weight), I ended up gained a little, like 2kg in this past month. I usually fluctuated easily, like it is not difficult to shed 1-2kg back, cause I don't eat that much. But this past month, I found it more difficult to handle. Does taking pills affect the metabolism or some sort of that to your body? Like slow things down? I have been also going to the gym to deal with this.
Thus, also related to the subject is superfood. I have been taking chlorella powder with my shake everyday and I am tempted to try maca powder, I heard it's good to balance out hormones. Has anyone of you been taking maca powder? And how does it affect you? I read it somewhere that it can boost up fertility (which of course I am not planning since I am taking the pills too).
Any suggestions or experience on this? Thank you very much in advanced :)
