My crazy (long) birth story💗
My original due date was 11/23. It was a scary and incredibly long labor but the end was the painless part! soo I was in early labor on Black Friday, went into the hospital, they monitored me for a bit but I wasn't dilated at all so they gave me the choice to go home and labor out there or stay and be admitted. I decided to go home and labor that night which was HORRIBLE. So Saturday I decided I couldn't take it anymore, was admitted around 1pm. Went over to labor and delivery at about 2 and they started me on pitocin right away to help dilate me. My labor was getting so bad that I couldn't even breathe through my contractions, was gasping for air and my mom was balling her eyes out watching it all. They gave me a dose of fetanol to help ease the pain, well shortly after the first dose around 4pm, the real contractions set in and the fetanol wasn't doing a damn thing so I decided to get the epidural after about an hour. After the initial insert of the epi, THAT started wearing off and I could feel everything so I pressed the button to give it a boost 2 times and was still in an incredible amount of pain moaning like an animal and cussing like a sailor trying to make it thru was at 8cm then, well then they decided to have the anesthesiologist come back in and give me another big dose thru the iv in my back. After that I was GOOD! So then the nurse put a peanut shaped yoga ball between my legs and I fell asleep for about an hour and a half. In that time, the nurse never came back in to check my dilation progress which was NOT right. So she comes back in after an hour and a half and starts messing with the monitors trying to find her heartbeat and I woke up in the process cause she couldn't find it. Well she FINALLY lifts up the sheet to check me and she's like OMG the baby's right there!!!! Nate said her head was already out a lil past her eyes and I couldn't feel a damn thing the nurse hits the emergency alarm and about 5 nurses run in the room and start telling me to push. One good push and she was out!!! The cord was wrapped around her neck which I didn't know until afterwards which I honestly think could have been prevented if that nurse would have been checking me more frequently they got it off immediately and put her right on my chest only had to get 2 stiches due to a 1st degree tear which honestly isn't bad at all for my tiny self (94lbs pre pregnancy) pushing out an almost 7lb baby it was the craziest, most painful yet beautiful experience of my life but I loved it and would do it a million more times. The private birthing room I was in was HUGE and beautiful, couch recliner, 20 ft ceilings with skylights and everything! (I have my govt insurance to thank for that ) I loved all the nurses EXCEPT the one that delivered layla. Sad yes but I'm an just so thankful that everything was ok. They moved me into a awesome private mommy and baby room for 3 days after that cause I was having excessive bleeding afterwards. The nurses over there were so awesome Layla scored a 9 out of 10 on her APGAR test at birth. She is so healthy. Had her second pediatric appointment this morning and she's gained 9oz in two days!!! im so happy...my boobs are not tho. My beautiful Layla Was born on 11/27 at 6:30 am exactly weighing in at 6lbs 7 oz
