Still not used to brown discharge X (

Had the Skyla for1.5 years now and am still weirded out by the brown discharge in between periods. Recently found out that my placement was very low in my uterus which accounts for the frequent irregular periods but why the brown stuff? ??? Now the introduction to my period is brown blood. .. like 2 days worth and it smells HORRIBLE. Am I the only experiencing this?
