what were your symptoms of PCOS!? How do you minimize your symptoms??

Answer

My biggest symptom was not getting my period for a really long time and having really irregular cycles. For example, I didn't have my period for 6 months, then I had it for 8 weeks (seriously nuts), then I was off for two weeks and now I'm back on.

Other symptoms for me include weight gain (it's very hard for me to lose weight but I'm trying) and occasional sharp pains in my pelvic area.

My doctor recommended exercise and weight loss to help regulate my cycle and hormone levels. Staying on a low glycemic index diet has been really helpful (eat foods that don't spike your blood sugar - there is lots of info on this online).

I tried Metformin to stimulate ovulation, but unfortunately it made me really sick. My GYN is having me see a reproductive endocrinologist for next steps as I TTC.
