Comfort nursing. Yes or no?

What are some of your opinions on comfort nursing? I have heard mixed reviews on the subject. Many people tell me not to and to just give my son a pacifier. I won't give him one. He doesn't like them and comfort nursing helps him go to sleep when he is extra fussy. What are some of your opinions on the subject?

Well I'd personally rather not do it 😂 but my baby girl will not take a dummy/pacifier so I'm stuck with comfort nursing lol.

I'm fine comfort nursing. I go back to eork next month snd the time will be gone. Maternity leave is designed fir nothing but bonding so this is about him. He wants it, fine. I'm doing right by us but but giving him a bottle so he's prepared for it but also he needs nurturing which is comfort and if he needs extra boob time fine

We did both. At home I would comfort nurse but we used a paci when we were out and about. Comfort nursing never bothered me. I loved the extra bonding time and snuggles.

My son, now almost 7 months, was colicky for 3 months. I had to comfort nurse, but the paci was also my friend. I think its ok if it gives you both peace. He doesnt do it anymore, so really, it was needed at that moment with no harmful side effects.

I permanently have a baby on my boob, especially in the evening. My favourite thing in the world is when she comes off and smiles at me then pops right back on. I can just feel her love in those moments

I'm not breast feeding I'm formula feeding. Both my last 2 babies would not have a dummy/pacifier. They obviously don't get a boob either. I love they don't have dummy's. One less habit to break and they sleep much better as they don't wake looking for it. So my opinion would be don't comfort using your boob either. Its easier when you want sleep to let them but long term it's s habit to break and that can be much harder. It's completely up to you though if your happy too continue.

My 4 month old had never gone to sleep with out comfort nursing. He refuses to. He still does it. There's no problem with it, it's soothing for them. It's a way to be close to you when they're tired and bond with mommy.

I have no choice- that's the only thing that'll calm her if she's fussy & she won't take a pacifier.
