About getting sole custody of my baby

I'm thinking about getting sole custody of my baby so that the dad can't get her when ever he wants or feels like it but I dont know how to do it so I would like some help.....he has only seen her by pictures that I post on Facebook and he only contacts me when he feels like knowing how she is doing and plus he's not on the brith certificate because he wasn't their at all to sign the papers like I was so I just want to get full custody so that he can't take just take her when he wants two out of the town I live in and I also just want two keep her safe from him so he dosent come in and out of her life like my great neice parents are with her....... any one have any advice that I can give?
