I have a Question.. My neighbor recently had the person who she was living with move out of her house. He was her babysitter. She knows I am a stay at home mom. I have a 9 month old and a 7 year old. She asked me to babysit because it's so convenient for her because I live so close. I've been babysitting her kids now for 3 weeks and she pays me $1 a hour.  She works 40 hours a week. I thought it seemed kind of low but now the more people I tell the more I think she is taking advantage of me. Her kids are 2 and 9. The 9 year old rides the bus with my daughter so I'm only watching her from 4 to 6 but I watch the two year old all day starting at 9am. And on Saturdays I watch them both from 10 to 6. My boyfriend thinks I'm overly nice and need to ask for more money but I feel bad considering it's so close to Christmas. But on the other hand she has family members that pay her rent for the entire year in advance. How much is a reasonable price for her to pay. And is $1 a hour completely insane like everyone is telling me.
