Yes, my boyfriend loves it! Most of the time when I tell him I'm on my period he thinks that I don't wanna do it when In fact I reeeeeally do (those damn period hormones) so I tell him that I do and he always gets so happy and excited 😂 it's hilarious

Just try it, you never know it may be fun. I heard it relieves cramps, plus it's healthy. Just do it in the shower or in the bath tub with no water in but it's easier to clean up. I imagine if you have a private place outside if you live in the south you could do it there too just be careful don't want to hurt yourself.
