going back to school after baby; is it a wasted profession

I will be doing online classes as a Business Major. I have trade diplomas for Phlebomoty (drawing blood) and I currently do that but I really don't want to be in Healthcare forever. The shifts are too hectic for a single mom and I'm working 3rd shift right now for shift differential until I have baby; won't be able to after baby due to childcare but it helps now. I will be doing online classes through a local community college. I already took my entrance exams etc. but some people are telling me business is a terrible major... I felt like it's versatile. I can add Healthcare Managament for offices, Human Resources, etc. I feel like it's a degree I can add to... and may have entry level with an Associates Degree and then I could continue...
My parents are supportive but they also don't want to see me work for a degree that has no jobs... any insight?
