Unswaddinv Advice/experience?

Question

Hi! My daughter (1 month) has been swaddled at night since she was born. We're considering transitioning her to a sleep sack and I'd love to know how you all have made that transition? And how do your babies seem to like being unswaddled? How long do they sleep unswaddled?

We bought the dock-a-tot and it acts like a bit of a swaddle because of the sides. Baby loves it and sleeps soundly in it between feedings.

Try a halo sleep sack. Was given one for free at my discharge class and my baby loves it. We also have a carters sleep sack and she loves it too.

I'm a huge fan of the halo sleep sack. It leaves the legs free (reasons docs don't like swaddling for long periods of time is it can cause hip dysplasia if the legs are wrapped too right) but allows you to still swaddle the arms (or there's also an option to leave the arms free). My son loves being swaddles in blankets but had no issue with the transition. It unzips from the bottom to make diapering easy and it's SO much better than fussing with blanket awarding in the middle of the night.

My baby likes to have his hands by his face, we use the love to dream sack. Enough comfort but still able to move. Can zip from bottom so diapering is super easy

My son didn't prefer being swaddled from day one, which I expected because he stretched out a lot while I was pregnant and fought each contraction lol Anyway, the sleep sack with the arms is nice because he has his hands like he wants and the legs aren't super constricting. With mine I could pull the bottom of the sack over to one side and fold it under to swaddle his legs more. Maybe you could try that

My daughter started hating being swaddled around a week old, mainly because she loves her hands. Transitioning to a sleep sack this week! She's 9 days now
