is it too late to switch hospitals?

Can you deliver at any hospital you choose? I'm almost 36 weeks and think I want to switch the hospital I choose to deliver at. I'm gonna finish my appointments at the first hospital but when I actually deliver I'll go to a different hospital. Can I do that ?

Your OB or midwife who has been providing your prenatal care may not have admitting privileges at any hospital in your area. If you're set on switching, you may also need to change your primary provider. 
I would also check where your insurance is accepted. 
Nothing says you can't change, it just might require some beauractatic hassle.

Usually if you're so far along you won't be able to. I tried but no doctor would take me  but I am   Also high risk. I was 30 wks at tht time. But if you just show up to deliver they can't turn you away. You'll just have the on call doc...with my first my water broke while I was visiting my parents and I was admitted and delivered. They didn't have any of my medical records though.
