Play mats/gyms?

Question

What age is good to get a baby a play mat/gym? When do they really start using it and being interactive with it? My LO is a month old and I want to get her one but I'm not sure if she'll get much use out of it now or if I should wait to get one.

We started at about 3 weeks. She would mostly just look at the objects. We also used it for tummy time as she liked to look at the print on the mat itself.

That's when I started using mine. He didn't do much that early but he was content looking at the colors and listening to the music. I liked to give him a little time to play and establish some independence and he's always been really good with having a time where he can play by himself so I can relax or get a couple things done nearby

Get one the sooner you get one the more use you will get.. with my first he used to lay there and really take it all in he loved it and I will be using one straight away with my second when she arrives too.. sensory time is so good for their development x
