Birthmark or bruise??

Question

Is this a birthmark or a bruise from her band in the hospital? She's 5 weeks old.

It looks like a birth mark to me.  A bruise would have been gone by now, and you would have noticed it changing colors.  Does it blanch/turn white if you press on it?

Can't really tell. Just wait and see. Both my kids have the same type of birth mark as me, I have one that looks like a scratch on my back and my son has one similar on his hip and my daughter has one on her shoulder blade.
But she does have what's called a stork bite on the back of her neck and skull that hasn't gone away yet or faded so I think that one may stick around for a very long time.
