5 weeks pregnant when should I announce it?

I want to make a cute Christmas announcement for my family and friends but I am having a hard time because I have known this soon. With my last 2 I didn't know until 8 or 9 weeks. I can't wait another 4-7 weeks. What input doing you girls have for me?

We are announcing Christmas Day, I'll be 9w5d. Personally I think there is too much taboo around miscarrying. I feel like if I did miscarry, I would probably tell everyone it happened even if I hadn't announced pregnancy because I would want the support. So do what feels right for you!

I would till the second trimester, because may God forbid something can happen wait till after the high risk of miscarriage is over and announce

I want to tell my parents at Christmas for their Christmas present but I'm still unsure. I am 4 weeks 5 days today but I will be 6.5 weeks pregnant on Christmas Day. My first doctor appointment and scan is not until Jan 3rd. This is my first pregnancy so of course I am scared of miscarrying so I want to wait til it's confirmed everything is fine at the doctor but I also want to tell my parents early because they have been wanting a grandchild for so long.

I would wait. We waited till 5months to tell the world and friends, a little over board but we told our close family at 9weeks. We were very scared to loose another child. My SIL told everyone and the world at 4weeks. She just miscarried at 8weeks. And now she has to tell everyone.

You could tell your family on Christmas and tell everyone else on New Years or Valentine's Day. That way if something does go wrong you'll have the support you need.

Whatever you feel comfortable with. My first pregnancy I told closest family and friends at around 5 weeks, my OB refused to do a US until 12 weeks, I ended up miscarrying at what I thought was 11 weeks but I measured at only 5.5 weeks, I'm now pregnant again and I'm 5 weeks, so far only my hubby and mom know. Even though I told myself the first time around I would want the support system if something happened, I felt such a sense of shame having to go back to all the people I told that there would be no baby. I'm waiting until 12 week US this time.
