Moral Dilemma! Who would you save?

Another hypothetical! 
The post about saving either your pet or a stranger's child reminded me of a different yet equally awful scenario.
You're on a small strip of beach alone with your neice and your daughter. No one else is around. They go to play in the water and suddenly the current sweeps them both away, they start to drown. 
You know your niece is a terrible swimmer, and if you don't act quickly she will drown. Your daughter is a strong swimmer, and is not struggling quite as hard, but she is still in danger. Who do you save?! Your daughter, and ensure your niece to drown? Or your neice first, and hope your daughter is strong enough to hold on a little longer?
I know this is an impossible question! (Especially if you can truly relate) Moral dilemmas are a big controversial topic in my psychology class.

My cat 😂😂😂😂 just kidding. It's a tough one, but I voted for niece as it's a more likely outcome that both can be saved. If your daughter is a stronger swimmer then in theory she will be okay that little longer

There's no real way to know. When your in the moment and you see a child drowning your first instinct might be to get the one going under the water, not the one who seems to be swimming fine. On the other hand you might just have that motherly instinct and just go for your child first. I'm the moment I sure you wouldn't think about it you would just react

I'd save my niece and my daughter at the same time. If my daughter is a strong swimmer she can hold on while I'm holding my niece.

I'd be pretty fucking pissed that I was idiotic enough to take loved ones to a beach w/o constant life guard supervision.

I'd also be pissed if I never taught loved ones how to stop a goddamn current in the sea. But assuming I actually take the time to teach them vital skills, they'd know not to swim and let the current take them out and then swim to the side to exit the current. To where they either swim back to shore or are able to get help.

It's not a situation where either has to die.

Not quite the same, but both of my nephews were swept down the Colorado river. Different sister's sons. One of my sisters jumped in to get to them and my other sister wasn't present. I knew she'd only go after her son, who was no panicked and who knows how to swim because he wouldn't fight her or drag her down. I knew she wouldn't go after my other nephew because he was freaking out and probably wouldn't have calmed down. So, I jumped in after him. Mind you, her son was wearing a life jacket, the one I went after wasn't. We still argue about it to this day. She openly admits she would have let him drown.

I would lie and say my niece , because that's what seems ethically right , due to that fact that my daughter is a strong swimmer... but since we are being honest here, I would save my daughter.

If my daughter was strong swimmer I would grab my niece then get my daughter at the same time I’m not fucking about taking my niece back to shore while my daughters life at risk.

Being a lifeguard in the past, I know it is possible to grab both at the same time. This dilemma is only an issue if you yourself cannot swim

I’ll hold my daughter and have my daughter hold the niece. Tell them to take nice deep breaths to help keep buoyancy turning the trek back to land. Pretty fit and good swimmer myself.
