Birthday gift, 3 months of dating

How much should I spend on my boyfriend's birthday? We are university students that have been together for 3 months. My birthday is a few days apart from his so we are going to do a gift exchange when he gets back from holidays.

I currently have one main present (a Japanese snack tasting box), and three small things to accompany it (a funny pair of socks, some stickers and a small 3D printed model). It's totalling to about $50, not including shipping. Is this too much?
