So the nurse called me today to tell me my results from my lab yesterday. My hcg is well over 4,000. What is the chances of me having twins? I'm somewhere around 5 weeks

Mine was 9960 no twins but I had twins in May

Hcg levels vary for each person. I'm approximately 5 weeks and my hcg level on Monday was >12,000 and when I checked it again on Wednesday it was >20,000. The ranges rise in the beginning of your pregnancy and at some point peak and then they will taper off. A good indicator is that your level will typically double every 36-72 hours. Doctors will usually test a few days apart to to verify that levels are increasing. I personally haven't been to the doctor yet but I am familiar with the testing being that it is my line of profession as a medical lab tech.
