Saving/standing in parking spot for friends

So a little while ago I was at the mall with my family tying to find a parking spot in an extremely crowed parking lot.... as we rounded the corner I thought I saw an empty space.... but then I see a man standing in it with his cart!!! So my brother rolls down the window and says, "Can we use this spot?" The man replies, "Oh. No im saving this for my wife. She's pregnant." So as we drive away my brother shouts, "Is it a boy or a girl?!"

Now I'm my opinion... that is the rudest thing to make up and excuse just to save a spot in the parking lot. Honestly I'm sure everyone has made a jerk move similar to this at some point. But would you do this normally? Have you ever done this? If not... what's the most selfish thing you've done to a stranger? Comment below!
