I am wanting to tell my job that I want to start my maternity leave right after the holidays, so Jan 2nd. I am due on Jan 30th. I will be a FTM but last December i had a still birth at 22.5 weeks . My doctors have me taking a weekly shot of progesterone until 37weeks and I read that women usually go into labor a week later after not having the shot . I want to have to nest and get things ready for the baby , which I have not done yet . How would i go about telling my employer that I would like to start my leave early ? Also.. I filed fmla with my employer just to be on the safe side , but I most likely will not come back to this job after the 12weeks is up... but instead of putting my 2 weeks in , I thought it be best to just start my leave early
