Premarital Counseling w/preacher when you are not innocent?

My fiancé and I are so nervous about attending the premarital sessions with our preacher and his wife. We are not innocent and definitely not virgins..anybody else ever had this happen? What happened?

I was visibly pregnant and 20 at my premarital counseling with my pastor- it's not his job to judge you, but to help give you tools for marriage and things to think about before saying "I do." ❤️

I haven't gone thru it, but my friend has. She had to tell her fiance to not say that they have stayed the night with each other or anything like that. But I would say, just be honest!

They know this isn't uncommon. Of all the people in the world, please don't be nervous about a pastor judging you. So you broke the rules, a lot of people do. Why do you think Jesus died on the cross for us? People have been breaking the rules since the beginning of time. If you ask for forgiveness and confess your sins, your pastor and God will forgive you. Please don't be nervous! I went through this same thing a couple months ago and it went great. It was painless and quick and the counseling definitely makes you think about certain subjects. It's great for couples to go through. You'll be okay! More than likely they won't even bring it up. There was a time where living together while unmarried was looked down on too. But that is so common now and in my opinion you don't truly know someone until you live with them. Don't be scared! ☺️
