How to handle mom
Okay, so I'm currently not sleeping while waiting out my induction. My mother STILL thinks that she is going to be in the delivery despite me explicitly telling her absolutely not on no less than 4 occasions. She always gets really pouty, but I've stood my ground. She has the audacity to assume once again that she will be in the room because, "it's MY first grandbaby, and I've always had and interest in OBGYN!"
I've told her that she needs to respect that this is MY first baby and I need to be in control. I'm the type of person who cannot handle being around a lot of people while in pain. My mother is also a very anxious type, and I just cannot imagine her being a presence I want in the room. I am now imagining my poor L&D nurse trying to block my mom from the room.
Anyone have any pointers on dealing with pushy mothers?
