Can anyone tell me if braxton hicks are painful! I've just been woken up by horrendous tightenings in my lower left abdomen, caused me to double over! Walking about has eased it, or is my little troublemaker lying on a nerve? I'm only 30w 4d so far to early for him to come yet :(

If walking or changing position eases them and they aren't increasing in pain and getting closer together (rhythmic) it's likely round ligament pain or Braxton hicks

Its normal but if they are regular or have other symptoms  eg bleeding or mucous  plug you should call your ob
