Are you going to have your baby boy circumcised? And please comment on why or why not?

Yes I am. Because I'm not falling into this whole new belief people have about it when they've been doing it for years. Yes I'm sure it hurts but it's not as bad as so many people make it out to be. The kid will never remember it even happening so it's not going to be traumatized. It doesn't even effect the baby afterwards. Yea it's sore but if you actually listen how to take care of it, you're not going to have issues. Plus I don't want to have to remind my teenage son to wash his weiner when boys go through that "never want to shower" stage. It actually does reduce a lot of infections and stds. Plus if you're son ever does decide he wants it snipped its going to be a lot worst as he's older compared to a baby.

I am.  As someone who's worked in nursing homes for years I know that my children won't deal worth the many issues of bring uncircumcised.

I'm not 100% for it but my husband insists on it because he wants our son to appear normal. Also, I remember my younger brother having to go in for surgery to have it done when he was 5 years old for health reasons as well as my friend's grandfather in a nursing home having to get it done. I'd rather just get it done when we're already in the hospital than have to schedule surgery in the future.

No, we aren't. If he wants it done later he can make that decision himself. It's a pretty big decision to mutilate someone's genitals without them having any say in it for no reason.

We decided that circumcision is not necessary. My husband is uncircumcised and it poses no problems in his daily life.

No, we are skipping elective cosmetic surgery for our newborn- thought about having a nice nose job done right out of the gate and maybe a tummy tuck, too, I mean that way he won't have to go through it later in life 🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄 But then we realized that electing to have surgery performed on your brand new infant to remove a perfectly functional, healthy, and important body part would be a little irresponsible.

I personally think that it isn't mine or my oh decision if out baby is circumcised. It's theirs. You wouldn't force your child to get their ears pierced or to follow a specific religion etc would you? So why would you force them to be circumcised? It's their life and you may think you're doing what's best for them but that could just be what's best for YOU not them. If, when they're old enough to understand it all, want to be circumcised, then they can be, if you're catholic/Christian but they want to be Jewish then they can be. You cannot choose things that will impact their life so much negatively or positively with out their permission regardless if they can't choose yet.

Yes, being uncircumcised can lead to issues in the future. Google it, men are confiding in each other because they have these issues. My husband and I agree that's it's best to circumcised and he wishes his mom did it to him.
