Birth control??

Question

What kind of birth control do you take and what would you prefer? I need to get on some type and I'm stuck on what to choose!

I had the Depo shot for about a year, you only have to get one shot every 3 months and (everyone reacts differently) but I actually lost weight and I had my period nonstop for about a month and a half then it completely stopped.

When I first started birth control I was on the pill, plain old regular pill. But I was unfortunately ill quite a lot (for other reasons) and needed antibiotics which stop the pill from being effective. After 5 years on the pill with no issues my Dr thought it would be safer to move me on to something that can't be affected by antibiotics so I was put on the mirena IUD.

The IUD made me bleed quite heavily for the first 3 months and then all periods disappeared. I have maybe 1 day of light bleed every 8 weeks and that's about it. It lasts for 5 years and puts your mind at ease knowing it's batting away any sperm that think they can charge the gate to your eggs haha. Those are the only 2 I've been on so I can't comment on any others but I would personally recommend the IUD.

FYI I'm on my second IUD now, total 7 years.
