What it's like to fly overweight

Jessica
I just watched this really interesting video on what it's like to fly as an overweight individual (from the perspective of several women who've experienced issues with other, more petite passengers & airline attendants).
The women reported glares from other passengers "seemingly hoping that I wouldn't sit next to them." Furthermore, many women interviewed said that other passengers "made a scene" in front of others, voicing their disdain of having to sit next to a larger person
Obese women also reported feeling overly self conscious of their bodies and extremely uncomfortable for the duration of the flight in an attempt to accommodate others
Interviewees also reported having felt embarrassed for having to request a seat extender from flight attendants
Several reports stated that adjacent passengers often utilize the center arm rest to enforce boundaries despite causing pain to the other party
According to CNN, airline seats have gotten more narrow over the years in an attempt to accommodate more passengers and make more money for the airlines.
***Have any of you experienced this, or something similar? (As a larger person, or as someone that has shared a row with a larger person). After thinking about what it must be like for the other person, do you feel justified in your opinion?***
