Miscarriage right before Christmas.

Am
My doctor confirmed yesterday that I miscarried our first child at 6 weeks.
Last Wednesday, I began to feel a little crampy and noticed a bit of spotting. The spotting was very light and brown, so I tried not to panic and was assured it's normal. But on Thursday the cramps continued and the spotting was bright red. The cramps were very mild and the spotting was only when I wiped. So I continued to stay positive.
I woke up Saturday morning with zero pregnancy symptoms. My breasts no longer full, and no longer noticeably bloated. I took another pregnancy test which still came up positive. But that's when I noticed the first clot when I used the restroom. I called my doctor, and the advice nurse insisted I go to the ER to get checked out.
After waiting at the ER, they finally did an ultrasound which confirmed my pregnancy was in the right place. But the baby was 4 days smaller than it should be. So they would check my blood again in 2 days.
Monday morning we went to the OBGYN and got another blood draw. My HCG levels had plummeted, confirming that I was miscarrying. We went back today to make sure everything had passed, and it has. So thankfully I didn't need a DNC.
I never experienced any severe bleeding or cramping, like they show in the movies. It was light cramps similar to how I feel when my period is about to start and the bleeding was no more than a panty liner. But it happened.
I'm so sad. Especially since I was waiting for Christmas to announce to my family. I had special calendars made to surprise our parents. Now they sit in pretty wrapping paper in the corner. I can't bear to touch them.
All my love to you all. ❤️
