Is there a group for people who are fostering/ plan to foster? I'd love to have a place to go to ask questions and get ideas throughout this journey.

My parents were for many years. So I wouldn't be a huge help but maybe a different perspective!

When you become certified your certifier should send you information about your county's local foster parent support group and other information like upcoming classes and foster parenting events. If they don't and drop the ball I recommend getting in touch with them and asking. Throughout the entire fostering process your certifier should keep in touch with you.
