Epidural, or no?

Question

What is your birth plan? 
I ended up getting an epidural with my daughter at the last second, because I was scared of the pushing stage.. 
I want to try no epidural with this one, but I'm so scared! How was your birth experience without one? What about your recovery?

I had an epidural with my first and loved it. Before it, my contractions were getting very intense and very close together and I get the epidural gave me a chance to relax until it was time to push.
I was thinking of trying without this time but then I decided that I'll probably end up getting it at some point so why suffer the pain when I don't have to?
I'd rather not be too beat up when I meet my baby and there is nothing wrong with not wanting to feel pain. After all, no one would opt for an all natural, unmedicated root canal, would they?

That's my personal opinion. I know many might disagree.

I had no epidural with my first and plan to do it again. I actually felt like the pushing was the easiest part because my body did all the work. As soon as my son was born I felt great. I popped right up, walked around the room, etc. Personally, the risks of having an epidural just aren't worth it to me. Not going to lie to you, it's HARD, but the sense of accomplishment is amazing.

I'm all for natural births if you can handle it.

But just remember what works for someone else, may not work for you.

I personally found the bath tub and proper breathing through contractions saved me.

I've had both. The epidurals are nice to have obviously. The reason I went no meds with my third was because I wanted to be able to get up and move around whenever I wanted without having to wait for the epidural to wear off. I liked that and I really liked that even though I was still shaky and weak from having given birth I wasn't walking on jelly legs. 😂

I had one at 7.5 cm with my first and regretted it. I went med free with my second and preferred it. You get a ring of fire but it lasts seconds or a minute not backpain for weeks and possible episiotomies etc. Pushing itself isnt terrible at all. You will be fine plus with pushing your contractions space out and you get breathing time to recoup your energy. Its totally fine...plus as we all know the discomfort is so quickly forgotten. I was on my feet within probably half an hour..fed her practically straight away. Felt pretty much great by the next day.

I'm going to try and go with no epidural this time (the first time gave me what I think they called a spinal migraine? Something like that). But I'm all for pain meds. My epidural wore off with my first birth before pushing started, and it wasn't completely horrible.

I was planning on having a vagina like birth and to take any recommendations on pain medication from the doctor but my baby is breech again at 29+2 so we might have to consider a c section instead 😔

I plan to not have an epidural. Instead I want to use water and gravity to help with pain management and urging labor along. However, I will say, if the time come that I am stressing myself out or the baby out without the epidural, or something becomes medically necessary then I will get one.

I'm a FTM, but because of my best friend I'm gonna try to do it naturally! She said she was so glad she didn't get the epidural. She said she was able to tell exactly when she needed to push, and also could stand right up and walk around right after.
