induction or wait??

Due Date was the 17th. I am now 5 days late. I had my membrane sweeped like 2-3 times already and nothing. I went from 1cm to 3cm in 4 days at my 38-39week appointments and doctor said she highly doubt I would make it to my 40 week appointment before he was born. Sadly she was wrong, I made to to my due date and my 40 week appointment which was on Tuesday. At that appointment I was a soft 3-4 cm but she said I'm still quiet long/thick and have not effaced much. She changed my induction date from the 28th to the 24th Christmas eve.

I wanna say I'm  starting to feel little cramps and back pain here and there but I'm not sure if they are contractions becuase normally I'm already always a little crampy. I am however losing my mucus plug little amounts at a time in the pass 2 days since my appointment. But I have also lost some in previous sweeps just not as much and it's not a bloody show. I was hoping he would come on his own still without being induce. I have a NST tomorrow and if things doesn't start up by tomorrow I will be heading into L&D Christmas eve to be induced.

Will the NST appointment tomorrow tell me if I'm contracting ? I really wanna know if I am and if I have progressed becuase I don't want to force my my body and baby if it is already starting without me knowing. But if I'm not progressing I have no problem with moving forward in being induced.  Would it be best to just go in on Saturday or skip it and reschedule and wait some more? I really wanted my baby here before Christmas .

I was due on the 17th and am in the hospital now being induced. I was 1 cm for 3 weeks. When I woke up this morning to come to the hospital I was contracting 5 min apart (I had not had any contractions before this morning and no signs of labor). So I came in and when I got here I was 3 cm. Labor is now moving pretty quickly. I got here at 4:30, started pitocin at 5:45, and the last time I was checked I was at 7 cm. Ready to meet my baby girl!

Yes an NST will tell you if you're contracting. If she checks your cervix tomorrow you'll have a good idea if you're making progress. Good luck mama. Personally I would choose the induction if I was over 40w but plenty on here would choose otherwise. I have terrible anxiety though and so going overdue is just has hard for me to handle as going early anxiety wise. Hugs! Your bub will be here soon regardless!

UPDATE:

I went in at noon today to be induced but I woke up contracting on my own. Doctor checked me and now says I'm only 2cm instead of 3cm :-( and she will give me 4 hours to contract on my own and see the progress. So havent got induced yet.

I'm in the exact same boat as you. I was due on the 18th so I am now 5 days past due and it's been really hard on my husband and I especially with all the phone calls and texts from family and friends asking if the baby came yet every single day. I've been feeling cramping and back pain and contractions but not enough where they are progressing and painful. If I were you I would get induced. My doctors don't want to induce me until after christmas because they would rather not spend Christmas in the hospital.. but if you have the option I would take it! Good luck!
