Got to L&D at 7:20 to be checked in and sent to my room. At 8 they hooked Sophia and I to the monitor (NST) and placed the iv in my arm. Was dilated at a 1cm. They are monitoring to see how her heartbeat is and also my contractions to see wat methods they are going to use to induce me.
9:44pm: was given cytotec to be placed in my cheek to dissolve. My nurse said it should kick in within 10min; fingers crossed 🤞🏾
12:11am: contractions are alil more intense but not too painful. Still sporadic though.
1:37am: not progressing as much so I just got a second dose of cytotec
1:48am: had my first ever contraction in my back, I felt like a twig about to snap😢
8:23am: only 2cm dilated, my ob broke my water, and my contractions r now consistent n more painful. Thought I was going to do this natural but fuck this lol I just ordered the epidural😂. They also put a catheter monitor inside to get a better reading on my contractions
8:54am: contractions r now 2min apart lasting 80 seconds
9:15am: got the epidural, pit, and another catheter put in. I cried bc it was so nerve wracking not knowing wat to expect n my contractions were killing me as he was trying to numb me. Currently only my right leg is numb
11:20am: I am completely numb n I don't feel a thing🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉😂 my ob checked my cervix again n I am now 4cm.
2:28pm: still 4cm n my contractions, that I don't feel, are closer together so they lowered my pit dosage
5:08pm: still at 4cm and increasing my pit
8:01pm: asked to turn on side so Sophia could get more oxygen since they saw her heartbeat wasn't fluctuating like normally. Didn't work so now I have an oxygen mask on to see if that will work. Since being on my side I am starting to get a sharp pain that the epidural does nothing for. My nurse said either its Sophia becoming fully engaged or it's my uterus shifting.
8:41pm: still on the oxygen mask, Sophia's heartbeat is fluctuating, in pain, feeling pressure, n nauseous (was given zofran). My nurse said nausea could be a sign of her coming. My doctor should be here soon to check me again.
9:01pm: was able to take off the mask bc her heartbeat was doing better n she was becoming active.
9:34pm: had to put back on the oxygen mask😔
9:54pm: they r getting me ready if I have to get a c-section. I'm still at 4cm even though I am contracting perfectly on my own but my cervix isn't showing any changes n it's going on too long.
10:01pm: it's official I will be getting a c-section😔 I cried so hard bc I feel like I'm failing her with my body. They just shaved me alil
11:01pm: Had to take this nasty drink for the acid in my tummy and I got a antibiotic put into another iv that I have. Waiting for my doctor to get here so they can take me to get prepped.
11:46pm: My husband n I heard her cry for the first time n we busted out into tears. It was the greatest sound u could ever hear. We both were crying from pure joy. She weighed 6lbs 14oz n 20inches. I couldn't be more in love than I am than right now.
During the c-section was another story. I was crying hysterically, throwing up, feeling faint-ish, and twitching uncontrollably. Once we got back to the room I passed my daughter off to my mom bc my whole body was convulsing/having spasms. My body was in complete shock n no one knew what to do for me. It lasted just about 30min n finally my body got through it. It was the scariest thing for myself, mother, cousin, n husband.
