Are period type cramps Braxton Hicks?

I'm dilated to a one which I'm not worried about but that has to mean I've had some contractions right? Even if they are only BH? Whenever my husband and I have sex I feel like period type cramping afterward for a little and I feel that cramping maybe once or twice a day on average. I don't notice being super tight but my belly is always tight. Are these Braxton Hicks? Or am I dilating with no contractions?

Hard to say. I'm having contractions but I'm not dialated yet.

Generally the contractions that happen after sex are not "real" contractions that will dilate your cervix. The other ones could be but if they're not regular or close together then it's probably Braxton Hicks.

I read somewhere that the sperm can cause contractions- maybe use condoms or other methods?

I've experienced the same thing and been told it's normal. We're almost there so it's part of the journey.

I had the same thing and checked with my Dr at last appt. Yep, period like cramps are Braxton hicks. She said they are normal.

I was told period like cramping for about after sex is normal. Make sure to talk to your doctor though!
