When referring to a child...which way do you spell it? I've seen it both ways

It depends on where you're from, in the UK and EU most people used spoilt and spoiled but primarily spoikt. In america people say spoiled or spoilt depending on their region. They're both right, and both mean the same thing. Past tense/past partical of spoil

I say spoiled, but you probably hear spoilt because I'm southern and don't hide my accent.

Both are technically correct. Spoilt is not really used in America but I heard/saw it frequently in the UK. It can't also be used as a verb, that's the difference. So you can say "I spoiled the baby" or "the spoiled baby" but only "the spoilt baby."
