how long does it take to naturally miscarry?

Hello everyone, I am having my second miscarriage and with my first everything went so fast in the ER that I wasn't able to miscarry naturally. 
This time after bleeding for 2 weeks and 2 ultrasounds, they told me that my baby no longer had a heartbeat and I told them I wanted to pass it naturally this time. 
It has been 17 days since the bleeding started and 5 days since they confirmed the miscarriage. 
I'm still only spotting and I'm hardly cramping at all. 
How long did your natural miscarriages take to pass? 
After how long with no progress should I go back to the doctor?

It can take a while. I'd strongly recommend a D&C. I've miscarried twice and passed both naturally and wish I'd been given the option for D&C. The last one I passed a fully intact sac and was in excruciating pain for 6 solid hours. Just one solid contraction for hours and hours that only got worse until the sac passed. I wouldn't wish that experience on anyone.

Going through the same thing... Our first miscarriage was over in 3 days. Everything escalated quickly. This miscarriage is taking it's sweet time. It took two weeks from our ultrasound for me to start bleeding. The cramping and bleeding has slowly been getting worse but I haven't passed the baby yet and it's been 4 days.

I passed all my clots and sac within two days. Bleeding lasted a week. Cycle started the following month.

I found out on Friday the 16th there was no heartbeat I had a repeat sono to confirm
This past Friday the 23rd, started bleeding Christmas Day light spotting , Monday was like a regular period and today was intense pressure and contraction like pain with heavy bleeding and I passed the gestational sac😔 now I will wait to see how long the bleeding lasts. So sorry for your loss!

3 days after spotting I started passing clots and on the 5th I passed the placenta and sac. I tried to basically induce myself. I drank plenty of fluids, did a lot of work around my house, and ate spicy foods after I found out. Heart burn wasn't great but the process started a lot quicker. Sorry for your loss and wish you a speedy recovery.

I had a natural miscarriage I began sporting for 3 days then heavy Heavy Painful bleeding for about a total of 14-15 days. When your body passes the baby its an eye opener of what birth will feel like. You should have a follow up ultrasound to confirm nothing is left in the womb to avoid infection and other issues. Sorry for your loss, it's 💔

It differs for everyone. I couldn't hang with the waiting, extended and slow bleeding so I took the misoprostol/cytotec to induce it. I'm sorry...I know your pain, like so many other women. 😢💔
