If I haven't been ovulating and my periods have been funky can my doctor give me meds to help conceive?

The doctor has to do something for you if you go so long without a period because it ups your chance of uterine cancer if you don't shed your lining. I dont really ovulate either. I've always had irregular periods and I went off birth control at the end of April and I've ovulated one time since. I finally went to the doctors in November. I got diagnosed with pcos because I have a bunch of cysts on my ovaries because I don't ovulate. My doctor made me do a round of Provera and started me on metformin. I go back in February if I haven't started ovulating by then. That seems to be a pretty common treatment from other people I've talked to. You can also take clomid or something like it to make you ovulate. I don't know if my doctor will start me on that in February if I don't start ovulating or if she will make me wait til April when we've been trying a full year.

Yes my doctor told me that was the first step was to find out if you ovulate and if I didn't meds would fix that
