240 pounds too much to get pregnant?

I've been struggling with weight for years and I'm 22 5' 10". I have irregular periods and have to take metaprogesterone acetate ever 2 months to get my period. Anyone else have the same issue? I'm having trouble TTC and I want a baby so bad but I'm worried I'll be to big to be a mom :(

Hi hun. Your weight shouldn't stop you. I weighed 280 (gross I know) when I got pregnant with my son. I weighed 275 at birth then 260 3 days after. So it's definitely possible to be bigger and be pregnant. I know someone who is 350lbs and pregnant and her baby is healthy. And another one who is 320 and her baby is healthy also.

I got pregnant at 224 and had a perfect pregnancy. I am hoping to get to 200 before I get pregnant again though. Just for my personal health.

I just started on my journey to weight loss. I weight 200 and I'm 5'6. I lost 10 lbs this week alone just by cutting out all soda drinks and having portion control. I also started using almond milk instead of 2% in my cereal. If you are comfortable with your weight the. Flaunt it. Me, I am not.

I think it really depends on the person. I've heard stories of women losing weight and getting pregnant right after but I've also seen "obese" women have no issues. I am technically considered "obese" but have no health concerns. I have no issue getting pregnant.

Your 5'10. Not bad.  I say go for it.  Don't wait to get pregnant to start eating healthy for the baby. That may help with the weight. But never be afraid just go for it.
