induction or c-section?

So I'm 35 weeks and baby is in the 97 percentile and weighing about 7lbs already. My dr suggests that I don't go full term and at 39 weeks wants me to either be induced or have a c-section... he says it's up to me but I don't know which one is better or easier? I've heard bad and good of each!
He's just nervous that with me being 5'1" I may be too small to deliver vaginally... 
thoughts?!?

I am 4'11" and gave birth to an 8lb baby vaginally. I would try to be induced before having a c section

Well it's proven that inductions lead to more c-sections so keep that in mind. I've had 2 c-sections and will have one with this baby. I've never been induced but if I was a candidate for a vbac I would not choose a c-section. The recovery time is longer and very painful.

I had to be induced at 37 weeks with my first baby. I would try to be induced if I were you. Just keep it in your mind you could end up having a csection. That was my outcome.

My recommendation would be to do some research to help you decide if you want to argue in favor of waiting for labor to start naturally. My understanding is that. Ring small doesn't mean you can't or shouldn't deliver vaginally.

What others have said is true--induction can lead to cascading interventions. The drugs they use lead to contractions that are longer, stronger, and closer together than natural contractions... this can lead to fetal distress... which can lead to a c-section. The method if induction matters too. Using pitocin before you are fully effaced increases your odds of a c-section because pitocin doesn't ripen the cervix.

I can verify the truth of the longer stronger contractions thing... My water broke on 12/23 at 34+3 and they had to induce. They wanted to start pitocin but agreed to try cytotec first when I asked. I started at the 1 cm and long (not at all effaced)--8 hours later I was 1 cm and 80% effaced. Even the early contractions hurt... a lot... which isn't usually the case with early labor. My midwife expected me to deliver around noon the next day (which would have been about 24 hours) but my labor kicked into high gear a few hours after my second check and I delivered at 3am, 13 hours after  we started the induction. Baby's heart rate was high the whole time, but thankfully we managed to avoid a c-section.

I didn't use a wheelchair after they wheeled me to my room and was walking a good deal by the next day. I didn't have an epidural and that seemed to make a big difference in recovery time. All the nurses were impressed with how well I was moving and how quickly.

I obviously don't have personal experience with a c-section, but I know it has a longer recovery time.

I would argue not to do either unless the baby or you are having other complications. General consensus is that a C-section recovery is harder plus it's a major abdominal surgery. On the flip side if you get induced you're much more likely to have a long labor and to end up having a C-section anyway.

If I absolutely had to pick I would get induced and try to deliver vaginally. I know women that have delivered 11lb babies vaginally though so I would try to let nature take its course!

Just curious, how early are they wanting you to go? I'm 4'11" so it's been brought up that delivery maybe difficult for me but haven't mentioned anything else. I am only 32 w though and at 28 weeks baby was measuring in the 50%, so not exactly in the same situation yet either.
