what did it feel like when you went into labor?

What was your personal experience when you went into labor?
I am about 37 weeks pregnant and want to know any and all symptoms of labor.

To put it subtly,  I was pretty sure I was on the verge of death with both of my sons.  Like waves of knives cutting through my stomach and crotch, stopping, repeating, etc.  Labor is different for everyone,  though.  I've seen videos of women sitting in a tub and the baby comes out in a blink....chicks didn't even flinch and I'm thinking HOLY HELL, I'd never get in a bar fight with any of them!

Day prior my system emptied itself out, (numerous bathroom visits that day).  The next morning i woke with period-like cramps. I knew it was labor. Doc had me come in to hospital & broke my water.

My water broke with my first and it felt like painful period cramps across my lower stomach. With my second I was induced and had the worst back labor. Felt like I was being split in half from my lower back. With my third I went into labor naturally and had my water broken at the hospital but the pain felt like waves of period cramps but I felt them more like a ring around my vagina.

Both times, my water broke after my first real contraction while I was in bed. The contractions are like intense menstrual cramps with a heavy feeling in the groin area.

Contractions just start to get strong. But for my I started bleeding it was 3am got up cause I was cramping and went to pee and whipped down here and saw blood! And looked in the toilet and there was blood! And went to L&D and said I was in early labor, dilated at a 1 then contractions got stronger and super close. Water broke at 6:43 pushed for an hour then BOOM... Baby girl ❤👑
Sometimes your water don't break. You just start getting contractions sometimes you don't even get any labor signs. Baby just decided to pop out!
