Pack n Play/ Bassinet or Crib?

Question

Okay I'm having a hard time.. Im not really sure if I should wait on a crib or if I should go ahead & but one. A couple friends have recommended that I wait it out on a crib because apparently most people don't use cribs until the baby gets a little older.. but I don't know. What do you guys recommend?

AAP reccomends baby sleep in the same room (not bed) until s/he turns 6 months old. I have a crib but not setting it up until my l.o is gonna be using it. I got an arms reach cosleeper for my room. Its a bassinet that attaches to my bed

I planned on having my baby sleep in our room and a pack n play until he was six months old. We had to move him to the crib in his room at two months because he was so noisy it kept both of us up, and our constant checking on him woke up the baby too. I'm really glad that we went ahead and had it set up before he was born. It made it so much easier. He is almost 7 months old now and has slept in his crib every night since he turned two months old.  I have also noticed that he sleeps much better on his crib mattress then he does the pack n play mattress. I don't think the pack and play mattress is very comfortable. I am still glad we got the pack n play instead of a bassinet because we can use it if we stay overnight somewhere or travel.

I'm only planning on having my son sleep in our room for the first couple months before going to the crib. But we got a graco 2 in 1 glider that's like a swing and then turns into a bassinet. I'm super excited to use it and just hope he will like it as much as I like the idea of it lol

We used the crib in her room since we brought her home. The room is just across the hall from ours. Did not have the money for a bassinet. Our doctor told us to not use one anyways cause they are most of the time to soft. My baby is already moving in her alseep a lot and she only 4 weeks old. So I think a crib is the safest for her.

3 kids, and never used a crib.  Had a pack and play for each one.  My 3 month old has a rock and sleep for downstairs naps.  Pack and plays are in our bedroom.  When he gets too big for the pack and play he will probably move to our bed until he is ready for a toddler bed.

We bought both the other our first and used both. My son was sleeping in his crib right away so we really needed that. And the pack n play is grreat for us in our family room. Baby plays in it at times and will even nap in it.

Get bassinet first so it can go in your room for the first 6 months. Then buy the crib later. My son is 3 months and his crib is not used. We throw clothes in it. 😩

We have a crib set up in her room but she is sleeping in our room for now. We have a pack and play in our room and she slept in the napper that came with it because I could move it easily, but now just sleeps in the pack and play. We plan on transitioning to her room at 3-4mo

I recommend a basinett until they're too big for one & then an actual crib that converts into a bed for a toddler & even bigger! The one I have is a bed frame for when they're in their teens, you just have to buy a bigger mattress at that point! It's pretty neat & priced well since it lasts so long... my mother in law bought ours & we bought the basinett which my son has loved b/c it vibrates, lights up, has music & even glides! Haha... he also has a glow whale that I got from Target that glows diff colors & it makes ocean sounds, heartbeat, white noise & other water sound.. this is just how I did it! That Jay I can put the basinett right next to me.. a newborn can sleep in a crib but the basinett was smaller & I felt he'd feel more comfortable in there plus it was $75 at Walmart & actually really nice!

We have a mini crib in our bedroom and a pack and play in the living room. We live in NYC so we don't have a ton of space.
