baby name... to announce or not to announce?

So it's been a rocky.... rocky road with my boyfriend like to the point where I don't think we are going to work out... anyway we are having a baby and due in like 40 days.. we'll he wants certain name that I am not okay with. When I ask him to give me other names he just gives me nick names for the name I despise... so I made my sons name and I love it. I asked for help he wouldn't help besides give me the name I don't like. I don't know if I should wait to  tell him what his final name is til he's born or tell him now. He's already pissed baby isn't having his last name 😑

Don't tell him, he will just try to ruin it for you by making fun of it or giving it a stupid nickname. Keep it to yourself until baby is born.

And I get annoyed when people think that men who have no intention of fully sharing all parenting duties (doctor visits, daycare and school registration and visits, taking sick days with sick kids, pick ups and drop off some, cooking, shopping, cleaning, etc) get to have an opinion about anything. And that goes for people who are married as well as those who aren't. The primary parent has all the responsibilities, so I think it's only fair that the primary parent get to enjoy the perks too.
But what do I know, I'm just a feminist.

 if y'all are NOT married baby does not have to have his last name. Your baby  your rules.! PERIOD.! Don't matter if he likes it or not either lol "tough titty said the kitty."! 
Go with the name YOU love and baby daddy can know the name after YOU sign birth certificate.!

My husband has been stuck on a name I don't like.. But I'm not going to just chose the whole name with out him. More less pick on and wait till baby is born to tell him. It's both of our baby not just mine. Rocky relationship or not that's his baby to and he's still in the picture. I would at least tell him the name you have chosen for yalls child.

You're not married to him + feel like the relationship is super rocky, you made a great decision with not giving the baby his last name. I hear that not sharing the same last name as your baby makes it difficult in the future.

As for the first name, you should really try to find a name that works for both of you but if he's gung-ho on not compromising then go ahead and write the first name of your choosing on the birth certificate. You should however try to have one final convo about it and let him know that if he can't compromise on the name then you will go with your own name on the birth certificate thus if/when it happens he'll know that he was warned!

He isn't being cooperative and that's not fair to you. 
I would tell him that name isn't an option and if he doesn't help you come up with alternatives that you agree on you will be naming the baby on your own. I think he should have some say but he also needs to be flexible and understand that you truly hate that name. Will he be in the baby's life if y'all split ways?

There is another thread similar to this one that irritated me and this one does,  too!  At what point will women realize the father of the child's opinions are just as important as the mother's?  Why is it only relevant if you two are romantically involved?  Grow up, respect the roles each plays in the child's life (because regardless of whether you two split or not, he will be your child's father FOREVER), and compromise on non-emergent issues unless you want your child to resent you in the future.

Give him the name you want but I think baby should have his daddies last name. Never heard of anyone not doing so unless they had no idea who the father was or he was really crappy and disappeared at the word "pregnant"
