I had my first ultrasound yesterday, transvaginal. Baby growing normal, heart beat strong, in 8 weeks. Mid morning today I went to bathroom and had a gush of blood come out accompanied by clear urine. No clots i could visualize but was decent amount of blood to alarm me. No cramping or other symptoms. Dr got me in right away. My first urine sample had some blood. They did an exam which she could see blood coming from my vagina. They had me give another urije specimen for culture even though she was doubtful it's an infection, this time urine clear with no discharge. They then did another vaginal ultrasound. Baby heart beat strong and all intact, they could not see any source of the bleeding. My husband and i haven't had since since before my positive pregnancy. They said to monitor but said sometimes they don't know why bleeding occurs. I have my big appointment next week to go over blood work and everything. My concern is later this evening I again had some blood discharge when I went to urinate. No cramping or other symptoms and not consistent. I will notify dr in am but curious if the vaginal ultrasound has irritated my cervix causing this to occur? I'm worried this is early sign of a miscarriage and there is nothing they can do to stop it but would feel better if someone shed light on why bleeding can occur if it's not a miscarriage. This is my first pregnancy, I am 33..
