doula?

Due in March with my first and I'm thinking about getting a doula.  Thoughts??

Totally get a doula! I had one for my second, and I wish I had one with my first. Absolutely priceless. I'm having one again for my third baby. The best thing is they make sure your partner is included and supported. It makes it a very bonding experience. I was a single mum with my second but the dad attended the birth and even though we weren't in a good place, he had a good experience and felt included which I thought was important. I'm having my third with my husband (his first) and I really want him to be relaxed and know how to support me which will in turn make him have a great birth experience too 😄

I just met my doula a little over a week ago. I'm a single mom and I just feel like that support is needed in my case. Otherwise I probably would have just looked up YouTube videos with her father to get prepared.

Totally! My first and just love having another support person on the team to support me and my partner + answer questions and help with communication with doctor etc.

I love my doula. She has been such a big support and wealth of knowledge so far. It is definitely one of the best decisions I've made.

We decided to hire a doula as we are planning on doing a home Waterbirth nd I want all the support possible with someone who knows and can help communicate my wishes and needs during labor!  She has been helpful in giving information and guiding me through putting my wishes down on paper.  She will also be there for the birth and a post natal checkin a few weeks later.  I just feel better knowing I have someone to rely on besides my husband!

I have one. Nobody else will walk you through coping mechanisms like a doula. A doula is also helpful for SO's if they panic. My doula also comes with some birthing classes and post partum checkups in home- including breastfeeding tips after baby is born. My doula is the most comforting thing about labor.
