I dunno, I'm a big fan of free will and independence and I don't understand this "permission" thing. I mean, I get what it symbolises, like it's a shorthand for loyalty and also how over him you are, but unless you're still really feeling the hurt from the break up, maybe just let it go. To be fair, she can't call herself your best friend but in the same breath lie to you about sleeping with someone who has meant something to you, so maybe reevaluate the friendship. But please let's get over this "permission" nonsense.

It really depends honestly. If your ex was a bad person or generally treats women poorly then it would be worrisome. Personally if I didn't have a lot of beef with my ex I wouldn't be super mad about it. Maybe a little jealous but not too much. Again, it depends on how and why the relationship ended.
