Breastmilk Questions
Hello! I am a first time mother who is a little confused on how to transport breastmilk.
I plan to breastfeed at home, but when we go out in public, I plan to bring milk that I pumped.
So my question is, how do I safety bring already pumped breastmilk along? I researched, and it seems that milk pumped right before you go, can be kept at room temperature in your baby bag for a few hours. But what about if I pull out already pumped milk from the fridge? Do I need to purchase a little cooler for it or can I just put it in my baby bag?
Also, I read that some women put frozen pumped milk just straight into their bag as well. But wouldn't the worry of it thawing out in time be there? But I also read to not thaw it out by room temperature like that?????
I'm just a little confused as to how to safety go about taking already pumped breastmilk out in public to be ready to serve when we are out and about.
I do plan to bring a breastfeeding cover just in case I have to breastfeed directly in public. But I would prefer to take already pumped milk.
Can breastmilk be served room temperature and a little cold or must it be specifically at room temperature or at least warm?
Thank you mamas! All the help and advice on this topic is fully appreciated :)
