Should the father have a say in a pregnancy termination?

Should his opinion matter? I get where the yes answers are coming from because it's his child too, but on the other hand he's not the one who has to put up with giving birth, having terrible symptoms and carrying the child for 9 months

It's more of a grey area for me... 
It's not like he could carry the child and give birth if he wanted to...

It's hard to say he has no right, it is his child, and he didn't chose not to carry the baby...

I personally think if two people make the baby, two people need to work together to come to a conclusion. 
But there are always exceptions and it's not always a yes or no.

It takes two to make a baby. It doesn't matter if she's the only one who can carry the baby, has to go through labor, etc. She chose to lay down with this man and get pregnant. He most definitely has a say. He is just as much a parent as she. Married or not, that is his baby. And the woman should be that cruel and inconsiderate when dealing with another person's baby.

While is seems cruel that the man doesn't have a choice, he doesn't have to carry or birth the baby. What if he decides he wants a baby and she doesn't? You cannot force a woman to go through potentially difficult and even life threatening pregnancy and childbirth possibly undergoing body altering surgery so a man can have a baby. Sorry, but I'm no baby making machine. It's a nice thought, but no. Final decision is the female decision. He gets a voice. He doesn't get to make the choice.

Sorry that's how I feel. If you aren't married and decide to carry this baby please consider giving the baby your last name and DO NOT put the fathers name on the birth certificate. It will save A LOT of heartache in the long run with custody battles and court AND should y'all decide years down the road the child's last name should be changed to his, it will be MUCH easier this way. It's the advice I would have given myself having my first at 17.

If he's you're a couple he should have a say. If he's a one night stand, and doesn't plan on taking much responsibility no. But I feel that even if the mother doesn't want the child an the father is willing to have full custody of his child. Maybe it should be an option for him tinge able to do that.

I think it depends, if he is demanding the woman get an abortion I don't think he should get a say but if he wants to have the baby he should have a say. My reasoning is that if any party wants to keep the child they as well as the child deserve that chance to be a parent/Child. This whole argument of my body my choice doesn't make sense to me. It's got to be about the baby, whatever decision that's being made. At the point of conception it's no longer just about what you want. Nine months and pregnancy symptoms are not a reason to abort a child in my book. It's such a short period of your life in the grand scheme of things and if he wants to be a parent he should get that opportunity as he is the father. If you want to be a parent you should get that opportunity regardless of what he thinks. That child deserves to be alive if that's what is meant to be as well. That baby chose you and as you can see on this app there's a lot of women dealing with infertility that would love to be in your shoes, potentially would adopt this baby. At the very least you can explore options of adoption before making such a life altering decision. I'm not saying giving a child up for adoption isn't a life altering decision by any means however it's a life altering decision you make with said Child in mind instead if just yourself. I'm not saying I'm prolife, I don't believe abortion should be illegal but I really think all scenarios should be explored before that sort of decision is made.

He should have a say.. And if you dont agree, prepare yourself to possibly be a single mother. If he says no, its one of two things, hes not ready or he hasnt decided if he wants one by you. I know it sounds harsh but thats reality.. You cant force someone to be apart of a childs life if they didnt want that child in the first place.

I'd say he gets to voice his opinion about it, she's. but no matter how you swing it, it's the woman that the baby is gonna live inside for 9 months. Still  completely her decision
