Family and moving

My husband and I are planning to move to another state once I finish school and we have the money. We'rd looking at being about 4 hours away from everyone. Not too bad, but my family (parents especially) don't travel much which means I'll hardly ever see them unless we come and visit. In very close to my parents. My mom is my absolute best friend. So my question is, for people who've moved away from family they were close to, is it bad and do you miss them a lot?

I'm just really scared that I'm going to miss something or my parents will get hurt/sick and I'll be too late to get to them.
