My marriage is first. We have three small children that we love dearly. But if we aren't the strong foundation for them, then we aren't a family. We are strong and committed and very much in love after almost a decade, because we put our marriage first. We gross our kids out daily. The kids laugh about it and then join in for family hugs and kisses. Our kids see a happy and healthy relationship while our friends around us fall apart.

My spouse and my children are equal in my eyes. Both are equally important to me but in different ways.

Like if they were both drowning and I could only save one? My kid and I'd want my husband to feel the same way if choosing between me and kid. However my relationship with my husband will always be a priority and I think a child can only benefit from that.

My spouse comes first. Foundation is important in order for a child to grow up in a healthy environment. Also, me and my husband are raising our child. It's not me and my child raising my husband.
