Depends on age, experience, how long you've been together, if you've lived together, if you have the same long and short term goals. It's different for everyone. It was a year and a half for us.

We were young when we met, I was only 20 years old. So we dated a little over 3 years before he proposed and then had a 2 year engagement. I'm definitely glad I was patient (not my strong suit) because we were able to grow and mature together before making such a permanent and important decision.

I'm 20 almost 21 next month & he proposed when we had 3 years together which was last year (: We moved in together young when we were both 17 high school sweethearts & now we have 4 years still together 1 year engaged hopefully this year 2017 we will get married nothing too big but sometime speacial of course ❤️
