Have to eat for two?

Question

I just hit 12 weeks today with my rainbow baby and I get hungry more often but I eat small meals or snacks through out the day.

I feel like I am not eatimg enough for two and wondering if I need to eat certain amount of calories ?

Answer

You need to eat 300 extra calories a day. It's not much, an extra bagel with cream cheese or an extra small lunch. 
Women usually require 1500 calories a day, now you would aim to eat 1700.
If you can't because of food aversion and nausea, don't beat yourself up! Make the meals you do eat count by making nutritious choices and get yourself some really good prenatals. Shakes are a great source of nutrients and calories if you find yourself unable to eat much.
