Moral Dilemma

Last year, a random woman messaged me on FB about a mutual friend we had. She told me that she had heard that our mutual friend was arrested and convicted of sex with a minor; this mutual friend was working as a tutor and supposedly (I say supposedly because at the time I couldn't find any info about it) had sex with his underage student, her parents found out, he got fired and arrested. Because I couldn't find out the details and it was all hearsay, I didn't believe it. Though I did think it was odd that he had told his ex girlfriend (that I'm still really good friends and they are too) that he was moving to China. He has a twin brother that I'm also good friends with but had died of cancer back in April of 2016. I let the situation go. Just tonight I got a message from the same woman telling me to google his name and arrest record! I did and he is (we're friends on FB, he is now out of jail) now a registered sex offender (who lives really close to me at his mom's house). He was basically convicted of "employing, hiring, coercing, use, or persuading a minor to participate in child pornography." His ex girlfriend and him have still been in touch and before he had heard to jail (like I said, he told her he was moving to China) he wanted to marry her.
I just talked to her in December and she is planning a trip up to where I live to visit me. As her friend, would you tell her the truth or would you keep it from her?
I myself am a teacher and a mother to a 3 month old daughter and will not be continuing my friendship with this person.
