The only issues I have with underage sex is when one partner is not underage. As long as it's safe and all parties understand the possible outcomes, I don't see a problem. I waited until I was of age (16 in my state) but that was purely because my bf of the time was not a minor. If he was younger, I probably would've have sex at 15.

As long as my child comes to me and we have a mature discussion about it, she's in a committed relationship, she understands the risks/benefits, and she's properly protected, I would feel more comfortable with it. Don't know if I'd ever feel 100% okay with it, but I want my child to know I understand it's normal for teenagers and young adults to want to have sex. As long as she is at an appropriate age, maybe 16/17+, I'd be open to the conversation.

Yes and here is why. A lot of people have "safe" sex but things can still happen. Teens aren't usually prepared for or ready to accept these things. Then they feel like a victim of their circumstance because they were being safe when really they knew the possibilities and took the risks anyway. We just don't want to believe it will happen to us. Individuals under 18 cant even be legally obligated to a contract in large part because they aren't capable of fully understanding the risks involved. They are impulsive and don't think things through rationally. There are probably grown ups who are like this too but they are grown and are accountable for their own choices. I want to change "safe sex" to "have sex responsibly." It takes more than a condom and birth control to have responsible sex. It's one thing to be willing to take the risk, it's another to accept the outcome of it.
